Traditional psychotherapy -- "talk therapy" -- involves regular meetings between therapist and client, with intent to create and foster a collaborative dialogue and relationship. In our sessions, I strive to be a compassionate and insightful guide, to assist you in looking inward to explore feelings and thoughts.
The wellness of the physical body can have a profound effect on emotional and psychological well-being. Our sessions may include discussions about physical self-care, including nutrition, sleep, exercise, and sexual functioning.
Human beings have a primal spiritual need to feel connected to one another -- to feel safe, to feel heard, to feel understood and loved. Our therapeutic relationship can serve as a pathway to explore these aspects of your life experience.
The relationship with one's body, and the ability to give and receive physical pleasure, are an essential aspect of wellness. Together we can find ways to gently explore feelings about your sexual self, including all aspects of sexuality and erotic expression.

Risa Neuwirth, LCSW
I offer traditional psychotherapy with an integrative approach that includes mind, body, spirit and sexual wellness. From my own life experiences -- as both therapist and client -- I believe these are all integral aspects of overall emotional and psychological health. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and have a warm and supportive style that focuses on each individual's inherent strengths. Together we can work to effect positive growth and change in your life.
All are welcome, with specialties in the creative & performing arts, the LGBTQ community, alternative lifestyles/families, & sexuality counseling. I offer free phone consultations to answer any questions you may have.
I accept most out-of-network plans, including SAG/AFTRA. I also accommodate out-of-network reimbursement & offer a sliding scale fee schedule. I firmly believe the cost of therapy shouldn't outweigh the benefits or add another life stressor, so I work with clients towards keeping sessions affordable.
